Albert C. Palmour, Jr.
Albert C. Palmour, Jr. got his start at Cook & Palmour where he was mentored by his father, the late A. Cecil Palmour and Bobby Lee Cook. In 1984, he opened Palmour Law Firm. The people of Chattooga County elected Albert as State Court Solicitor in 1986, and he held that post until 2003. Albert practices all types of civil and criminal litigation and has successfully tried hundreds of cases to jury verdict throughout Georgia and the Southeast in both state and federal court. Albert has tried many unique cases including everything from whistle blower and complex estate and trust cases to Clean Water Act and Depuy Hip Implant litigation. He has tried multiple multi-million dollar controversy divorce, contract, and real estate cases to a favorable resolution for clients. In the last five years, Albert has tried three "stand your ground" cases all ending in not guilty verdicts for the client. Albert is currently the City Attorney for both the City of Summerville and the Town of Trion. Albert's breadth of legal knowledge is not matched by many and he is truly an "old school" lawyer offering legal assistance for any type of legal problem you have.

Melissa Gifford Hise
Melissa Gifford Hise has successfully represented and advised hundreds of clients since beginning practice in 1993. She joined the law firm of Watson and Dana in LaFayette, Georgia after graduation and then became the law clerk for the Superior Court judges of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit in 1995. in 1996, she founded Four Points, Inc., a non-profit that provides services to families involved in domestic violence with services uniquely tied to the justice system. She left Four Points after 15 years of service to become a full-time Magistrate Judge for Walker County but joined Palmour Law in 2012 to get back to practicing law full-time and expanding her practice areas. While Melissa focuses on family and juvenile law, she is adept at handling wills and estates, employment cases, real property, education, business formation, contracts and assists Albert in representing the City of Summerville, Georgia and the Town of Trion, Georgia. Melissa continues to serve the Walker County Magistrate Court as an assistant Magistrate judge. She brings unmatched compassion and professionalism to Palmour Law Firm.
